Caves History |
The year 1906;
the Dow Jones Index in America closes above 100 for the first
time, messrs Rolls, Royce and Johnson form Rolls Royce Ltd and
in Northampton, Walter Cave establishes Cave & Sons.
The firm, which unusually comprises both stockbrokers and estate
agents, grows quickly like the burgeoning town which remains
its home and swiftly acquires a reputation for honesty, efficiency
and personal service.
 |
"Established
by Walter Cave in 1906, Cave & Sons are one of the
few remaining, truly independent stockbroking firms in
the country." |
Though the estate agency business was eventually hived off at
the request of the Stock Exchange (early signs of increasing
regulation!), the firm continues to grow and moves from its
original base in Fish Street to a new home in Hazelwood Road,
where in 1986 it starts to offer more general financial planning
services for the first time.
Moving into the late twentieth century, the firm continues growing
and moves to more modern, open plan offices on the outskirts
of the town, also establishing a branch office in the historic
town of Stratford-upon-Avon in Warwickshire.
